The White Tank Mountains Chapter, NSDAR, was formed on March 18,

2006 and approved by the National Board of Management on April 8,

2006. The chapter is designed to meet the needs of working women in

Surprise and surrounding cities who want to be a Daughter of the American

Revolution and support the goals of the Society.

 

The working woman's chapter meetings last between one to one and a

The chapter name, White Tank Mountains, honors the prominent geo-

graphic feature that borders the West side of Surprise. The White Tank

Mountains host depressions with pools of water and which are known in

the Southwest as "tanks". These depressions have been weathered over

the centuries and are smoothed into interesting shapes that may hold water

year-round.
